St Mary's Alpine Park

This 9,146 hectare wilderness retreat features numerous lakes and tarns tucked against the rugged granite cliffs, and is surrounded by tundra and lingering snowfields.

A 45 km logging road services the Dewar Creek drainage from nearby Kimberley, and provides access to the park boundary. 

Seven creeks drain the lakes, resulting in numerous waterfalls, some as much as 150 m in height.  Experienced travellers willing to expend considerable effort in bushwacking and route finding to visit the area, will be well rewarded in the superbly scenic wilderness where you will encounter few, if any people.

No facilities are provided.  Open year-round, no fees. No camping, no fires and no horses are allowed, but fishing may be enjoyed.
