KOOTENAY ROCKIES/TOURISM BRITISH COLUMBIA
 COLLABORATIVE MARKETING PROJECT GUIDELINES

 

Tourism Partner Program

     Overall General Program Guidelines

  • Kootenay Rockies Tourism (KRT)/Tourism British Columbia's (TBC) programs have maximum funding level of 50/50;
     

  • All businesses within the region and engaging in direct tourism activities, recognized by KRT/TBC are eligible* to participate in regional collaborate programs on a cost-shared basis (*any business with an outstanding accounts with KRT/TBC are not eligible to participate until their account is paid in full);
     

  • All marketing projects must include at least two separate Partners (Stakeholders), within each sector AND the marketing project be available to all eligible regional Partners (i.e. Ski Resorts & Heli Ski Operators; or Golf Resorts & Central Reservations; or Adventure Operators & Accommodation Properties); and
     

  • All Tourism Partner Projects cannot include any cost-sharing of International initiatives.   In addition, Real Estate sales (i.e. time-share; quarter-share)  promotions are not cost-shareable.
     

Collaborative Marketing Guidelines for each Marketing Project

1) Consumer Shows
Booth displays must include representation from two or more Partners;
*  All booth space will be contiguous (each Partner grouped together geographically – based on
     the floor plan allotted space);
*  Each participating Partner must display the regionally and/or provincially approved brochure
     and any additional promotional material (i.e. regional table banners) within their individual
     booth space;
*  Individual Partners must be qualified and prepared to represent the entire region in
     addition to their own property/facility;
*  A show report and image of your individual booth display must be submitted (from each show
     attended) to Kootenay Rockies Tourism; and
*  Travel expenses to attend the consumer shows are not cost-sharable.
 

2) Print Advertising
Must follow approved KRT/TBC program guidelines (by type of layout, see details below)

artner ads within a regional print section will either be formatted or non-formatted ads

 
     Single Page, Photo Banner
      a) Regional photo, KOOTENAY ROCKIES text, SNBC/SE logo and regional copy at the
          top of the page;
      b) BC logo (within in BC – include text; outside of BC – logo without text) to appear
          within the ad; and
      c) Formatted or non-formatted ads in the remaining 50% of the single page.

      Double Page Spread
      a) Regional photo, KOOTENAY ROCKIES text, SNBC/SE logo & regional copy at the
          top of the page;

      b) BC logo (within in BC – include text; outside of BC – logo without text) to appear
          within the ad; and
      c) Formatted ads below (8 available spots per page); and
      d) Banner at bottom of the page must include regional/provincial call to action
           information (i.e. website, toll free #, email, etc.).
 
      3+ Pages Advertorial Spread
      a) Regional photo, KOOTENAY ROCKIES text, SNBC/SE logo and regional copy at the
          top of the page;
      b) Regional images & copy throughout the section (amongst the Partner's individual ads)
      c) Regional informational box (or distinctive copy) to appear at the end of the section;
      d) Non-formatted ads spread out throughout the advertorial section; and
      e) The BC logo is not required.

      Print Ads with Tourism BC Publications
      BC Vacation Planner – Non-formatted ads within the Kootenay Rockies section of the
                                    publication.
      BC Outdoor Adventure Guide – Individual Partner ads must include the regional
                                               name with a regional colour bar (Pantone #5145)
                                               at the top of their formatted or non-formatted
                                               ads.                                              

3) Publication (Regional)
     * 
Must follow approved KRT/TBC graphic guidelines for regional guides pertaining the to cover,
          Super, Natural British Columbia/Share the Excitement (SNBC/SE) logo, table of contents and
          publication content
; and
     *  Partner ads within a regional publication will either be formatted or non-formatted ads.


      4) Radio Campaigns

     *
 The regional name must be stated with a clear and memorable call to action;
     *
 An invitation for an overnight stay;
     *  The words Super, Natural British Columbia either as a stand alone statement or as an
          adverb or adjective, but never as a noun; and
     *  Must reference the entire market, region or community and not just one specific
          Partner/Operator.


5) Television Campaigns

A voiceover invitation to visit the Kootenay Rockies region;
*  An invitation for an overnight stay;
*  Display the regional name and call to action to the region/province (i.e. website –
     KootenayRockies.com);
*  BC logo (within in BC – include text; outside of BC – logo without text) to appear within
     the ad (1.5 seconds); and
*  SNBC/SE logo to appear on its own at the end of the commercial - at least 1.5 seconds
     (no other logos or corporate logos can appear on screen)


6) Web Advertising
* The regional name and a clear memorable call-to-action is required;
*
The on-line banner ad must click-through to a multi-property** landing page and the
    SNBC/SE must be present on that landing page (with a click-through to HelloBC.com -
    Kootenay Rockies section of the website)
; and

*
The BC logo is not required.

        **Multi-property landing pages include: PowderHighway.com; Community Consortium websites (i.e. TourismGolden.com);
         Ski Resorts.   Sorry,
the click-through cannot go to an individual Partner's website.
