DescriptionSet on the banks of the St. Mary River, the Ktunaxa Interpretive Centre at the St. Eugene Mission Resort was constructed in 1910 and operated for 60 years as a residential school for Aboriginal children. In 2002, as a result of partnerships between Hotels and the Ktunaxa Kinbasket Tribal Council, the St. Eugene Mission was transformed into a modern full-service resort.
The Resort includes the Interpretive Centre and an Arts & Crafts Gift Shop. The Centre is a showcase promoting Aboriginal contemporary arts, culture and heritage. On display are historic photographs, scale models of traditional tipis, the sturgeon-nosed canoe and many other artifacts.
