#1. If you could choose one spot in the Kootenays that make you the happiest, where would it be?
I think I'd have to say Fernie. I've only just recently moved back to Canada and have spent most of it getting settled and exploring my new backyard. Fernie just has so much to offer! Hot summers spent cooling off with a river float, endless hiking and mountain biking, and late nights hanging out by the fire. Once winter hits, all you want to do is play in the pow, whether it's cross-country skiing, alpine skiing or snowshoeing. Although, next summer calls for more road trips, adventures and exploring the rest of the Kootenays.
#2. Who is your favourite outdoor companion?
Wow, tough question! There are so many people I enjoy the outdoors with, but since it says 'companion', and not 'person', I'd have to say my dog, Roxy. She's a little bichon shih tzu that's totally underestimated! We've gone on many hikes and bike rides together where people are blown away that she can keep up. She's a trail dog for sure ... Just a little one!
#3. What is an experience that you would suggest to a new visitor to the Kootenays?
Biking! The Kootenays are full of trails for all abilities and it's the best way to explore - you get to cover more ground in a shorter amount of time compared to hiking. Plus! Once you've gone up, you get to cruise all the way down.
#4. How does the Kootenay wilderness inspire you?
I just want to photograph everything! It really inspires me to get outside. I want to see what the view from every mountaintop looks like and swim in every lake.

#5. What do you love about exploring in the Kootenays?
The charm - so many unique, homely little towns. The wilderness - the biodiversity, and the harmonious respect between man and animal. We share this land with so many beautiful creatures. The seasons - each one had its own beauty and brilliance. The quietness - no hustle or bustle! Just so many people happy to be outdoors enjoying the company of Mother Nature.
