How did you learn about where to go and what to see in the Kootenays?
The Kootenays are a pretty fantastic place with a lot to offer. I prefer to explore off the beaten path so I spend a lot of time searching google maps and old blogs for new places to explore. When I first moved to the Kootenays I picked up a few of the awesome local hiking guides to get me started.

When you head out on a Kootenay adventure, what items are a “must take” with you?
My gear list is pretty basic and dependent on the season, but I always make sure that I have enough room for my camera gear!
Describe your ideal summer day in the Kootenays.
That’s a tough one! With so much to do in the Kootenays it’s hard to fit it all into one day. I will always take a day in the alpine over anything else, but a day full of climbing followed by an afternoon spent with friends on the patio of a local brewery is a close second for me!

If you could choose one spot in the Kootenays that make you the happiest, where would it be?
Exploring Valhalla Provincial Park.
