Join Friends of Kootenay Lake at the Kokanee Nature Centre.

June 10, The Lake Speaks: Wildlife & Ecosystem Health,
Join in for an evening (6-7:30pm) to explore species that help the story of Kootenay Lake’s health. From Kokanee Salmon that support much of the lake’s food web to recovering Osprey populations, to Grizzly Bears roaming the surrounding forests. These animals can reveal important clues about the condition of the ecosystems and the habitats they depend on.

August 20, Birding Info Night,
There will be a panel where local birders reflect what ignited their curiosity in the birds around them. You’ll also get an intro to bird ID apps and there will be an evening walk through the park to listen, observe and see what feathered friends can be identified. 6:30-8:30 pm.
