This museum occupies a well-preserved Canadian Pacific Railway Station built in 1907. Once inside, you can almost feel the presence of passengers waiting to board the trains. The Station Agent’s residence offers an authentic glimpse into the early 1900s. The Museum also displays a collection of local newspaper archives.
The on-site gift shop offers a wide range of gifts and collectibles – a variety of handmade items crafted by local area artisans including paintings and pottery are displayed and available for purchase.
The Castlegar property is beautifully landscaped and a wonderful spot to stop and have a picnic. There is plenty of parking space and the convenient location is close to downtown. The museum also offers internet access for visitors.
