The Dock ‘n’ Duck History
In June 1947, three historic events took place on Kootenay Lake: Balfour became home to the new ferry landing on the north shore of Kootenay Lake. The Anscomb Ferry came into commission and the Tillicum Inn (now the Dock ‘n’ Duck) opened for business.
In the early 1990s, the Tillicum building was expanded and became Dockers Pub under new ownership. In late 2007, Robin & Reg Goldsbury took possession. The old pub subsequently underwent a multi-million dollar, custom frame transformation adding 5,000 square feet to the building.
Check out the Dock ‘n’ Duck for a meal and or an overnight. It’s conveniently located in a spectacular setting on the shores of Kootenay Lake and near Ainsworth Hot Springs, Balfour Golf Course and Whitewater ski Resort.
