Lake O'Hara Lodge

Winter operations are suspended for the 2024 winter.
If you are skiing into Lake O’Hara this winter, no services will be available.
Summer / Fall season:  mid-June to early October.

Lake O’Hara Lodge is a backcountry hiking and Nordic skiing lodge nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, only a few hours from Calgary and a short distance from Banff and Lake Louise.

The lodge is the perfect place for you to relax after an amazing day of hiking or skiing.

The property is composed of a main lodge and guest cabins.

Lodge Rooms
The historic main lodge features 8 rooms, each with two twin beds and two large bathrooms that are shared with all guests. There’s plenty of hot water for long showers or even a soak in the claw foot tub.

Lakeshore Cabins
With the Rocky Mountains and shores of Lake O’Hara at your doorstep, these cozy one bedroom cabins are the definition of a mountain retreat. A queen bed hand crafted by a local artisan is complemented by a day bed. Cabins have their own bathroom with hot shower.

Guide Cabins
These cabins are located on a knoll which commands an impressive sweeping view of the area. A large deck, bedroom with queen bed, sitting area with a pull down murphy bed and pull out couch and a full bath allow couples or families to relax in comfort.

In addition, lodge visitors love the fine dining and extensive British Columbia wine list, as well as the massive stone fireplace and postcard-quality views that can be found throughout the property.

Day Trips
If you are unable to stay at the lodge yet still wish to visit this magical place, you have some options. During the summer, Parks Canada operates a shuttle bus service for people wishing to visit the area for the day to hike the network of trails.

Camping
Overnight camping reservations at Lake O’Hara are offered through the Parks Canada Reservation Service.

Lake O’Hara Lodge is 11km from the nearest road and completely off the grid making it the perfect place to get away from it all while experience the best the Canadian Rockies have to offer.
