Nipika Mountain Resort

Nipika Mountain Resort is a spectacular eco-resort and Green Leader Gold certified – they operate in harmony with our natural environment.

Stay in a luxury timber frame log cabin in the heart of the Kootenay Rockies; it is the perfect spot for your family, business or group getaway. Nipika is an eco-resort that is run completely off the grid using solar power to give you every luxury of a home.

It is set amid a massive 100 km (62 mi) scenic trail network that starts at your door step. In conjunction with BC Forest Service, Nipika is the doorway to the Cross River Recreation Site. You don’t need to stay at the resort to access the trails.

Winter
Nipika Mountain Resort shines in the winter. There are 50+km of cross-country ski trails, groomed for both classic and skate-skiing. Nipika has over 30 km (19 mi) of separate groomed fat biking trails! Separate again are the snowshoe trails, which double as the summer single track trails. The winter activities don’t end there: Nipika also offers ice skating on the Nipika Pond and toboganning on Mt. Sledmore.

Rentals & Lessons
In winter, Nipika has cross-country skis, boots and poles for all ages; fat bikes and helmets for adults and youth; snowshoes for all ages; and chariot stroller rentals. In summer, they offer mountain bike rentals and have an activity shed with gear.  Lessons or activities include group cross-country ski lessons (classic or skate), guided hikes, full day paddles down the Kootenay River and multi-day adventure camps. There is also a conference centre available.

Summer
The activities you can experience are endless. There are over 50 km (31 mi) of single track trails to enjoy on your mountain bike or in your runners or hiking boots. No trip to Nipika is complete without a visit to the Natural Bridge. Enjoy spending the day in a SOAR boat canoeing the Kootenay River, full day trips are available. You can also hire a guide to take you above the treeline on one of the alpine hikes around the area. Looking for a longer adventure?

Try one of Nipika’s multi-day Adventure Camps: whitewater canoeing and mountain biking.

Nipika’s new disc golf course is open for public use.  It’s a fun activity with mountain, forest and river views.
