Life-size portraits in bronze. Pat Luders loves the challenge of creating life-sized bronze portraits using the ancient art of lost wax bronze-casting. Drawing on her nursing background, she sensitively portrays her subjects, people from many walks of life and more recently her pets.
In a completely different sculpture stream, Pat explores the concept of ‘labyrinth’, through multi-media tables, using reclaimed, carved wood, inscribed soapstone and copper. A few are created per year and each one is unique.
All visitors are welcome to walk the labyrinth after which Pat’s studio was named. The 60 foot Chartres labyrinth is made of colourful river stones and was completed in 2003. It is located on the river plane just below the studio.
