Wild Water Adventures

The excitement comes in waves rafting with Wild Water Adventures on the famous Kicking Horse River! Full-length and half-day trips are offered daily, from mid-May through mid-September. Ranging from ‘mild to wild’, there is a river option to suit every whitewater preference.

Whitewater Exciter (half day)
Non-stop Big whitewater action from start to finish with Class 2,3,4 and 4+ waves and rapids. Twice daily departures at 8:45am and 1:45pm. Optional gourmet BBQ lunch with morning departures. Minimum 12 years and 90 pounds.

Gentle Introduction to Whitewater (half day)
Combines bouncy and splashy Class 2&3 waves and rapids with stunningly gorgeous Rocky Mountain scenery. Daily departures at 8:45am with optional gourmet BBQ lunch upgrade. Select afternoon departures in July and August. Ideal for families with younger children, older adults. Minimum 8 years and 50 pounds.

Tradition with BB Lunch (full length)
Longest trip on the river combining together the Gentle and Whitewater Exciter half day trips for ‘2 trips in 1’. Daily departures at 8:45am. Minimum 12 years and 90 pounds.

Maximum Horsepower (double run)
Twice the whitewater action with two runs down the big whitewater section of river on two different types of rafts. Run #1 in standard oar-rigged rafts; Run #2 on smaller, all-paddle rafts. Paddling on the second run is mandatory. Enjoy paddling hard through the biggest waves in the Rockies. Minimum 16 years and 100 pounds.

Adventure Float
Enjoy a relaxing float down a quiet section of the Kicking Horse River. Mostly a Class 1 river experience, with just a bit of Class 2 waves depending upon water levels. Perfect for families, seniors and nature seeking guests. Offered Monday and Fridays at 1:45pm throughout July and August.

Individual bookings or groups can be easily accommodated – perfect for school, youth and church groups, social occasions, stags, stagettes and corporate travel.

All trips depart from the Wild Water Adventures RiverBase, conveniently located on TransCanada Highway #1. RiverBase amenities include heated, indoor change rooms, spacious outdoor covered decks and secure, private parking. Quality equipment is cleaned daily and provided so that guests need only bring a swimsuit and towel. Fun and friendly professional guides provide a secure and memorable experience, with plenty of instruction and information about the river and surrounding mountains. Hot beverages and tasty snacks provided after every departure.
