The excitement comes in waves rafting with Wild Water Adventures on the famous Kicking Horse River! Full-length and half-day trips are offered daily, from mid-May through mid-September. Ranging from ‘mild to wild’, there is a river option to suit every whitewater preference.
Rafters experience non-stop BIG whitewater action from start to finish on the half-day Whitewater Exciter. This is the adrenaline-pumping section of waves for which the Kicking Horse River is famous. It’s the biggest whitewater in the Rockies!
Those seeing the ideal introduction to whitewater rafting are perfectly suited to the Gentle trip. With bouncy and splashy Class 2 & 3 waves and rapids, this half-day is the perfect ‘mild’ whitewater river experience.
The full-length Tradition is 2 trips in 1, combining together the Gentle and Whitewater Exciter trips for maximum time (and rapids) on the river. Plus, guests feast on a delicious barbecue lunch served back at the RiverBase after the trip.
Twice the whitewater action is found on the Maximum Horsepower. It is a double run of the BIG whitewater section. Two runs, on two different types of rafts, make this trip a ‘must do’ for whitewater adrenaline seekers. The first run is in standard 16-foot oar-rigged rafts while the second run is in smaller, 14-foot paddle rafts. All rafters must dig in and paddle hard when the guide hollers out commands. Wild Water Adventures is the only company offering this type of experience.
Individual bookings or groups of 8-100 can be easily accommodated – perfect for school, youth and church groups, social occasions, stags, stagettes and corporate travel.
All trips depart from the Wild Water Adventures RiverBase, conveniently located on TransCanada Highway #1. RiverBase amenities include heated, indoor change rooms, spacious outdoor covered decks and secure, private parking. Quality equipment is cleaned daily and provided so that guests need only bring a swimsuit and towel. Fun and friendly professional guides provide a secure and memorable experience, with plenty of instruction and information about the river and surrounding mountains. Hot beverages and tasty snacks provided after every departure.
