Nestled just north of Valhalla Park in the Selkirk Mountains, the Valhalla Mountain Touring Lodge is accessed via a 16km forest service road near the village of Hills.
The VMT Lodge is a touch of luxury in the Kootenay wilderness which is able to host 14-16 guests comfortably with private bedrooms, fully-equipped kitchen, cozy living space for lounging, high speed WiFi, dining area, heated drying room, hot shower, flush toilets, wood-fired sauna and hot tub.
Winter
VMT owns and operates their own snowcat, which means no helicopter delays.
With 19,000 acres of skiable terrain, VMT offers an unmatched backcountry experience exclusively for your small group. Designed for intermediate to advanced ski tourers, terrain delivers 1,300-2,000 metres of vertical per day. From big lines to steep pillow zones and perfectly spaced glades, you can skin up right from the lodge and explore somewhere new every day.
Summer
Almost any vehicle can make the drive right up to the lodge.
VMT offers a summer escape surrounded by rugged alpine peaks, high lakes, grassy ridge lines, mossy forests and vibrant wildflower meadows. Whether your ideal retreat involves curling up with a book in a quiet corner or gathering with friends on the deck for yoga, VMT Lodge is designed for total relaxation. Step outside and the mountains are yours – trails start right at the lodge.
Food Program
Food is the cornerstone of the VMT experience, prepared by chefs who love both great cooking and the mountains. Since 2022, they’ve worked diligently to build relationships with local farms and food suppliers. This commitment has allowed them to craft menus that are not only delicious but also sustainable.
Customized Experience
VMT is perfect for weddings, yoga retreats or workshops of any kind. The lodge can be the canvas for your own custom experience.
