Valhalla Mountain Touring

Located in the heart of the Selkirk Mountains, just north of Valhalla Park near the village of New Denver.

Sustainability Initiatives
VMT use energy / fuel efficient equipment and technologies and offer staff & guest education for it, use a micro-hydro system to provide power to the entire operation, implement operational changes that reduce demand for transportation, energy and fuel, they produce renewable energy / fuel on-site, have waste reduction initiatives to divert waste from the landfill, operate 4 stroke snowmobiles and for the most part, walk in the mountains with their guests.

Winter offers the greatest mix of temperatures, moisture and mountains combined for some of the best skiing and riding on earth. With 40 square km (25 sq miles) of alpine bowls, glades and chutes is just a skin track away from the lodge, allowing you to venture someplace new every day of your trip. The peaks and ridges soar to 2,550 m (8,500 ft) providing for continuous descents of over 600 m (2,000 ft) back down to the lodge at 1,740 m (5,800 ft).

The snowcat departs from the small community of Hills; 13 km north of New Denver (or 30 kms south of Nakusp on Highway #6). Offering Sunday to Sunday packages.

Summer
Morning birdsong and the sound of a clear stream rushing down the mountain greet your ears as you set out from cozy Ruby Creek Lodge into the Valhalla Mountains for a day of sunny summer activity.

The terrain surrounding Valhalla Mountain Touring is diverse and plentiful, and accommodates any skill level in a variety of activities. All activities are complemented by frequent wildlife sightings and magnificent wildflower displays.

For those wishing to hike, many peaks, ridges and bowls with stunning views are accessible while strolls in the immediate surroundings of the lodge provide a more relaxed way to spend your day.

Lodge
The exquisite timber frame lodge provides 7 private bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen and a spacious living area, plus a wood-fired sauna.

Directly adjacent to the lodge, the sauna outbuilding offers a large heated change room with access to the shower, spacious wood fired sauna, additional toilet and huge area for drying gear.
