As an authentic Kootenay ski bum, Jason Remple the co-owner of Stellar Heliskiing has been working in the ski industry since a teenager. From skiing at Whitewater to entering the tourism industry as a dishwasher, then moving on to ski guide and then operations manager with the region’s first cat-skiing operator – Selkirk Snowcat Skiing. He is now the proud owner of Stellar Heliskiing in Kaslo, with his wife Kerry Luckey (since 2005).
Remple has been guiding for 23+ years, and it’s no secret that his passion is sharing his love of the Selkirk and Purcell mountains with dedicated skiers and riders from around the world.
For the past 8 years, Stellar Heliskiing has offered an alternative to both lift-serviced and cat-skiing and riding, in the area. Guests to Stellar can experience up to 6,096 metres/20,000 ft. of vertical powder in untracked pristine wilderness bowls, chutes and glade areas of the Purcells and Selkirks. Receiving upwards of 15 metres/50 ft. of snowfall annually, Kootenay and Duncan Lakes help fuel the storms that bump into the Selkirks – creating one of the most reliable deep snow zones!
