Wet Your Whistle: Along a Kootenay Road Trip

Wet Your Whistle: Along a Kootenay Road Trip

View All Blog Posts

The beauty of the Kootenays in the fall, with the larch (tamarack) trees turning golden-yellow, makes for a fabulous time to take a road trip. Discover one of the 6 hot springs for a therapeutic soak and then "add in" your favourites, or soon to be favourites, ‘watering-holes’ to energize the body.

From Oso Negro’s coffee beans blended into Nelson Brewing Company’s to make their "Prince of Darkness Coffee Stout” to Gerry's Gelati’s homemade gelati blended into their delicious milkshakes, this area of BC offers some of the world’s best beverages to enjoy!

Please do not drink and drive (ensure that you have a designated driver).  If you’re visiting the Nelson area – the Kootenay Beer Tour does the driving for you.   Their guided craft beer tasting tour offer exclusive behind-the-scenes access to brewing facilities and a beer making lesson.  You’ll visit Backroads Brewing, the Nelson Brewing Company, the Savoy Brewery and the Torchlight Brewing Company.  Tour includes being picked up and dropped off near your accommodation property in a 15-passenger van, plus lunch & snacks.
